Jagran correspondent, Agra. From May 2025, the hassle of applicants visiting RTO for Permanent Driving License (DL) will end. The applicants are now taking the test under the surveillance of CCTV cameras on an automated driving track. Every month more than 1500 people apply for permanent DL.

The automated driving track in Artauni was inaugurated on 6 May 2024.

The Accreditation Driving Training Center (ADTC) Automated Driving Track located at Artauni was inaugurated on May 6. Those applying for permanent DL are now giving the test on an automated track under the surveillance of 60 cameras equipped with sensors. The permanent DL is issued by the department only after showing the four-way parking of the vehicle in the presence of the RI of the Divisional Transport Office.

Center director Sanjeev Prajapati said that 60 cameras equipped with sensors detect the driver's mistake immediately. Generally, parking a car in S shape in 50 seconds is considered to pass the test. Whereas the one taking 70 or more seconds is considered failed.

New outsourcing company got responsibility

From December 1, 2025, the new company got the responsibility of deploying employees in DL sections of all the districts of the state including Agra. Earlier, for many years, this responsibility was on only one company in the entire state. After completing the process related to permanent DL in the concerned district, it was issued from Lucknow.

This year it has been given to three outsourcing companies. Each outsourcing company got the contract in 25 districts each. One supervisor and five employees have been deployed in the DL section by Fo-Kam-Net Private Limited in Agra. This will speed up the process of making DL.
