Communication Assistant, Rajganj (Dhanbad). In Mahtotand of Rajganj, the villagers beat up an unknown youth badly, considering him a child thief. He was badly injured by the beating. There has been a serious head injury. People of five villages had gathered on the rumor of catching a child lifter. Everyone had sticks, axe, bow and arrow in their hands. The villagers were very angry.
After receiving the information, Maheshpur Panchayat head Manoj Mahato reached the spot. During the rescue, he had to face the anger of the villagers present there. During this his pants got torn. Whereas the servants of Jai Gurudev Ashram had to face lathicharge.
After getting information about the incident, the police of Rajganj police station reached the spot in full force. After much effort, he was freed from the clutches of the villagers and taken to the police station. After which he was admitted to the local nursing home for treatment. When asked by the police, he was not able to tell his name and whereabouts properly. The incident happened around 9 pm on Thursday night.
Villagers told that three people were seen roaming in the village in the dark of night. Hearing the alarm of the child thief, the villagers came out of their homes armed with weapons. Seeing which everyone started running. Here this news was given to the nearby villages through mobile. Within no time, villagers from Mahtotand, Marchokocha, Garibdih, Gangapur, Bardar and surrounding areas gathered.
During this time the said youth was caught in Garibdih. After killing him, he brought him to Mahtotand. After which the villagers together started beating him fiercely.
The police officer involved in patrolling said that he had come wandering. His body was stinking badly. Was not even wearing warm clothes. He was brought to the police station after escaping from the crowd. An inquiry will be conducted once it becomes normal.
