Youth Dies After Being Hit By Express Train In Gurugram While Watching Mobile Phone While Sitting On Railway Track

Jagran correspondent, Gurugram. A young man sitting on the track near Basai village on the Delhi-Rewari track became so engrossed in watching his mobile that he did not even hear the train's horn. A young man died after being hit by an Intercity Express train on Sunday evening. GRP handed over the body to the relatives on Monday after post-mortem.

According to the GRP, the deceased youth was identified as 35-year-old Sanjeet Kumar, originally a resident of Bela village in Patna district of Bihar. It is said that Sanjeet worked in a private company and lived with his family near Basai village. He is survived by his wife and a son.

The family said that as it was a company holiday on Sunday, Sanjeet had gone out of the house for a walk. The railway track is near the village. At around 5 pm on Sunday evening, Sanjeet was sitting on the track near Sector 9 overbridge near the village, when he was hit and killed by the Intercity Express train going from New Delhi to Firozpur Cantt.

The loco pilot of the train informed the control room about the incident. Loco pilot told that the young man was sitting on the track and was using mobile phone.

After this, GRP recovered the body in a mutilated state near the track. GRP said that when the youth's mobile phone was examined, many photos of railway tracks were found in it.
