Dinanath Sahni, Patna. The new government is preparing to implement international standards for the skill development of the youth of Bihar. Under this, a proposal is being prepared to implement the model of World Skill Centre.
This model includes new and modern skills like Artificial Intelligence, Drone Technology, Electric Vehicles, 3-D Printing, which are necessary for future jobs.
Priority is being given to provision of modern and future-oriented training for the youth. The Labor Resources Department has shown seriousness regarding the model of the World Skill Center established in Bhubaneswar.
The department will base it on the standards implemented by the World Skill Center for skill development of youth in Bihar. Since the Department of Youth Employment and Skills has been formed. Therefore, now the work related to skill development of youth has come under the responsibility of this new department.
Youth will get a chance to go abroad
Efforts are being made to provide world class training to the youth of the state through Bihar Skill Development Mission. There will be arrangements for skill development for the youth on the basis of international standards. For this, the model of World Skill Center will be implemented.
Implementation of this model of World Skill Center in Bihar will help the youth here to become globally competitive. The youth of Bihar have always performed excellently in competitive examinations.
Labor Resources Department Secretary Deepak Anand said that by implementing the model of World Skill Centre, the bright youth of Bihar will also get the opportunity to go abroad every year under the Student Exchange Program and they will get international level vocational training and industry exposure, so that they can prepare themselves as per global standards.
Finishing School Training for ITI and Diploma graduates
In the proposed action plan of the government, there will now be a provision to provide finishing school training to ITI and diploma graduates. Even training of trainers (TOT) will be provided for teachers related to skill development.
Three major academic faculties can be operated in the new department. In the Faculty of Engineering, there will be arrangements for teaching and training related to Mechatronics, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Precision Engineering.
At the same time, arrangements will be made for education and training in culinary arts, beauty and health, digital media, hair fashion in the School of Services (SOS).
Emphasis will be laid on staff capacity development in the academy faculty. For example, training of trainers programs, professional education and training in the area of pedagogy and evaluation techniques are included.
Learning Resource Center will be formed
A Learning Resource Center will be created for capacity development of the students coming for skill development, where life and employment skills training will be mandatory for the youth.
This center will have a modern library equipped with technology, which will have wide availability of e-resources and virtual reality facilities.
