90 Families Of Madh Assembly In Jammu Division Got Relief, Government Said Distributed Rs 8.87 Lakh

Jagran correspondent, Jammu. Relief amount of Rs 8 lakh 87 thousand was distributed to 90 families of Madh Assembly in the month of August last year in lieu of the damage caused by flood. Apart from this, ration and other essential items were also provided through the Indian Red Cross Society during the flood period.

This information was given by the government in response to the question of Madh MLA Surendra Kumar during the assembly session on Friday. The government in response said that Madh assembly had suffered a lot of loss due to floods last year.

There was no negligence or delay in relief and rehabilitation works. The district administration immediately responded to the disaster by carrying out immediate assessment and response measures as per the SOP of the State Disaster Response Fund.

Assistance was provided to the affected families on priority basis as per SDRF norms. An amount of Rs 8,87,000 has been distributed to 90 affected families in Marh constituency as per SDRF norms of assistance.

Apart from this, restoration works of water supply and electricity infrastructure affected by floods have been completed while some roads and related works have been targeted to be completed in the next three months keeping in mind the availability of funds. Estimates have been prepared for this. The work will be started as soon as funds become available.
