Samvad Sutra, Jagdishpur. DDC co-in-charge District Magistrate Pradeep Kumar Singh and SSP Shubhank Mishra inspected the temporary bus stand located at Rickshadih on the four-lane side of Khiribandh Panchayat on Wednesday.
During this, he reviewed the activities conducted in the bus stand premises. The officials assessed the facilities available to the passengers and took stock of the progress of the proposed bus stand relocation.
During the inspection, the officials discussed the chaos prevailing at the bus stand, traffic pressure and inconvenience caused to the passengers. He clarified that making the Rickshaw Dih bus stand well-organized and safe is the priority of the district administration.
For the convenience of the passengers, arrangements are being made in the bus stand for passenger shed, permanent ticket counter, toilets as per cleanliness standards and leveling for safe movement of buses. The concerned departments were instructed to complete all the work with quality and on time. During this meeting, the fare for auto-toto was also decided.
Administration fixed auto-toto fare on five routes
Passengers coming to bus stand from coal depot or railway station or Jagdishpur have to come by auto and toto. In such a situation, passengers are becoming victims of the arbitrariness of the drivers. The drivers were charging Rs 20 to 25 as fare.
Regarding this, a meeting was held at the bypass police station with the district administration, police station, public representatives and auto drivers to determine the fare. In the meeting, the fare from bypass to railway station, bypass police station to Jagdishpur, bypass police station to zero mile Jichho, bypass police station to Pansalla Chowk was unanimously fixed at Rs 10 per ride.
In the meeting, DRDA Director, BDO Amit Kumar, CO Satish Kumar, Revenue Employees, Police Station Head Prabhat Kumar, Chief Khiribandh Ajay Rai, Chief Jamni Mohd. Dignitaries including Chand Alam were present.
Instructions to city police and transport department to conduct regular investigations
The officials also decided that strict control will be imposed on uncontrolled movement of small vehicles in the bus stand area. For this, the fixed stand and fare rate will be implemented effectively.
The city police and transport department have been instructed to conduct regular investigation campaigns. As a result of these steps, the traffic system of the area is seeing improvement.
Municipal Corporation immediately started mobile toilet in the stand
With the opening of the bus stand, the problem of jam has reduced and passengers have got relief. Officials said that the process of shifting the bus stand is being worked on seriously. After inspection, the electricity department installed a new pole to raise the high tension wire.
Apart from this, the Municipal Corporation has made arrangements for mobile toilets. It was told that the construction of permanent toilet will be completed in a month. However, a passenger was injured in a routine accident at the bus stand when the bike lost control and fell.
