Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Girls Hostel Safety Check: After the suspicious death of a NEET student living in a girls hostel in Patna, the state government has adopted a strict stance regarding the security arrangements of hostels and lodges.
Now all the hostels and lodges in the district will be inspected under the supervision of a woman magistrate. In this regard, the Home Department has issued a letter to all the District Magistrates.
This instruction has been issued by the Home Department in the light of the letter from the Additional Director General of Police, Weaker Section. In the order issued by Special Secretary Suhita Anupam, it has been said that registration of all hostels and lodges should be done compulsorily from the competent authority. Also, deployment of woman magistrate will be mandatory during checking of security standards.
In the past too, instructions were given to investigate the hostel, but then there was no provision for monitoring by the lady magistrate. Now it has been made mandatory. The investigation team will ensure whether there is 100 percent compliance with the safety standards in the hostel or not.
