Jagran correspondent, Meerut. There was tense peace in Kapsad village of the police station area on Monday also. On the instructions of administrative officials, there was an undeclared curfew like situation in the village.
Security arrangements have been tightened on the main roads, link roads, farm roads and footpaths leading to Kapsaad. Paramilitary forces along with police from several districts have been deployed in the village and entry of outsiders has been completely banned.
SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra camped throughout the day at Aterna Ganganahar bridge and monitored the arrangements. Nearby villagers are also being allowed to go towards the village only after seeing their identity cards. A complete ban has been imposed on the entry of political parties, representatives of social organizations and media.
The streets around the house of the victim's family have also been completely sealed. It is noteworthy that at around 8 am on Thursday morning, Sunita, wife of Satendra, a Scheduled Caste resident of Kapsad village, was attacked and her daughter Ruby was kidnapped.
On the complaint of the victim's family, a case was registered against village residents Paras Som, Sachin and many unknown people. Sunita died during treatment on Thursday evening. After which the matter took a political turn.
The atmosphere had become more tense due to the statements of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati. On Friday, angry over the arrest of the accused and non-recovery of the girl, the relatives had refused to perform the last rites. Which was later done on the assurance of former MLA Sangeet Som.
On Saturday evening, Meerut and Saharanpur police arrested the accused and recovered Ruby while going to Haridwar. Since then the village has been completely sealed.
On Monday, vehicles were stopped from Nanu Ganganahar bridge on Meerut-Karnal highway towards Chaudhary Charan Singh Kanwar track. Whereas the movement was stopped by barricading on Daurala, Aterna Salawa and Khatauli Ganganahar bridges of Sardhana. SP Dehat Abhijeet Kumar and SP Traffic themselves took charge and continued to inspect.
