Air Pollution Havoc In Muzaffarpur, AQI At Dangerous Level Of 307

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. As the cold increases, the pollution level of the city has started increasing. The city's air quality reached dangerous levels on Wednesday. Air quality was recorded in hazardous category.

The city's AQI was recorded at 307 during the day. At the same time, the air quality in many areas of the city also remains in the poor category. The air of Mithanpura area was the most polluted on Wednesday.

Here AQI was recorded above 300 for about 10 hours. In comparison, the pollution level in MIT and Collectorate campus was also in severe category. AQI around MIT was recorded at 127.

The AQI level in the collectorate was 150. It is still in the yellow zone. In the first few days of this month, the city's air had reached the red zone. After this, the period of continuous fluctuations in AQI continues.

For the first time in the last few days, the city's air has reached the red zone. Air pollution increases due to open construction work as well as dust particles and burning of garbage. Due to this the air of the city becomes bad.

There are less vehicles here compared to big cities but the level of pollution increases significantly. The reason for this includes open construction work and non-compliance of standards. On the other hand, soil and sand are transported on tractors and other vehicles without covering it.
