Samvad Sutra, Araria. Araria Police has busted a cyber gang making illegal withdrawals from bank accounts through fake fingerprints through UPI. In this case, five cyber frauds have been arrested from Mahalgaon police station area. During the raid, police recovered 14 mobile phones, two finger scanning devices, one laptop, one tab, one Jio Wi-Fi router, four bikes and two cars.
In this regard, SP Anjani Kumar told a press conference that secret information was received that some cyber criminals are cheating the bank accounts of common people at the house of Vinod Mandal in Kishanpur ward number six of Mahalgaon police station area. Considering the seriousness of the information, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of Cyber DSP Razia Sultan.
The joint team of Cyber Police Station and Mahalgaon Police Station took prompt action and raided the house of Vinod Mandal. During the raid, six people were found in a suspicious condition in the back room of the house with a laptop, mobile and a finger scanning device. As soon as they saw the police, everyone started running away, but five accused were caught.
The arrested accused gave their names during interrogation as Vinod Mandal, Mohd. Sartaj, Sonu Kumar Mandal, Mohd. Nisar (all residents of Araria district) and Bhaskar Kumar (resident of Purnia). During interrogation, the accused admitted that they used to obtain data of people using internet through Jio Wi-Fi router and illegally withdraw the amount from bank accounts with the help of finger scanning device. The arrested cyber fraudsters include Vinod Mandal of Kishanpur in Araria, Sonu Kumar Mandal, Mo Nisar of Palasi, Mo Sartaj of Chirah and Bhaskar Kumar of Amour in Purnia district.
All the accused have been arrested and brought to the police station. A case has been registered against them in the cyber police station under the IT Act. Raids are going on to arrest the absconding accused. The raid team included DSP Razia Sultan, Dharmendra Kumar, Raju Kumar, Kundan Kumar, Rama Kumari and soldiers of Mahalgaon police station and police station reserve force.
