Suspense on the series between India and Bangladesh.
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Amidst the increasing political tension in Bangladesh, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly decided to postpone the Indian team's tour of Bangladesh. The decision comes after Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced to host a three-match ODI series and a T20 ODI series with India in September this year. According to the report, BCCI will seek approval from the government before taking a final decision on the Indian team's tour.
Government permission will have to be taken
A BCCI official said, "Last year also we did not go to Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Cricket Board had released its international calendar, but now there is doubt about it, because to play in any other country we need the permission of the Indian government. As far as the T20 World Cup is concerned, Bangladesh will play in India as per the schedule."
can behave like pakistan
Due to the ongoing political crisis between India and Bangladesh, cricket relations between the two countries may become like that of Pakistan. In the current situation, bilateral cricket between India and Bangladesh is in trouble. In future, both the teams may be seen playing only on neutral venues in global tournaments. Not only this, Bangladesh can also demand a change in the venue for the T20 World Cup to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka this year.
Rahman was thrown out of the league
On Saturday, BCCI had asked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to drop Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the team. The franchise followed this order of the board. The pressure on BCCI and KKR was increasing after the recent murder of a Hindu man in Bangladesh. KKR co-owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was also targeted over Mustafizur's inclusion in the team.
