The dream of wearing the uniform of the candidates who made others appear in the examination and appeared in the examination on behalf of others could not be fulfilled and they have now become accused. Their troubles will increase in the coming days, because evidence will be presented in the court by the investigating officials. If found guilty on the basis of sufficient evidence, the punishment is considered fixed.
In the year 2024 alone, more than a dozen 'Munna Bhai' were caught in East Bihar during the constable recruitment examination. In the year 2026, till now, more than two dozen fake candidates have been arrested during the Constable Efficiency Test, Inspector Recruitment Test and document verification. Fraudsters have been caught from many districts including Bhagalpur, Jamui, Sheikhpura and Banka. Now the trial process will start in the court in all these cases.
Examination was held at 28 centres, 36 accused were caught
Constable Recruitment Examination was conducted by the Central Selection Board on August 7, 2024 at 28 examination centers in Bhagalpur. During this period, 36 accused were caught doing mischief and planning it. Two fake candidates were arrested from two different examination centers in Mirjanhat.
Shiv Kumar, a resident of Mahru village of Sabour police station area, who was appearing for the examination in place of Chandan Kumar, a resident of Amarpur Tardih in Banka district, was arrested. Niwas Kumar, a resident of Harpur Chanduki in Munger district, was caught appearing for the exam in place of his brother Ravi Kumar from Suraj Devi Mishri Lal Women's High School.
Fraud in Jamui and Banka also
Four accused were arrested during the constable recruitment examination in Jamui district. Electronic devices were recovered from two candidates at KKM College, Jamui, while two colleagues sitting in a car outside were caught with a walkie-talkie. In Banka district too, Diwakar Kumar of Bhagalpur, Abhinav Kumar and Rajesh Sah of Meherpur were arrested during the examination.
Fraud exposed in inspector exam also
Munna Bhai, who was appearing in lieu of someone else from Sheikhpura in the Inspector recruitment examination held on 18 and 21 January 2026, was arrested. He was identified as Kundan Kumar, resident of Belsar Noorsarai in Nalanda district. Aditya Kumar and Rajeev Kumar were also arrested in this case. However, the mastermind of this gang, Sonal Kumari of Nalanda, known as 'Madam', is out of the reach of the police, who used to hire scholars for lakhs of rupees and conduct the examinations in place of the candidates.
