Digital Desk, Gwalior. A tragic accident took place on Sunday morning at Ghatigaon Simaria Tanka on Agra-Mumbai National Highway (Shivpuri Link Road) in Gwalior district of the state. One of the two leopards that came out of the boundaries of Kuno Sanctuary has died after being hit by a speeding unknown vehicle. The second cheetah is missing and is being searched.

It is being told that the white Swift car hit the leopard crossing the road. This cheetah was the cub of a female cheetah, which died on the spot after being hit on the face. The second cheetah along with the cub narrowly escaped. The accident happened in the early hours of Sunday, when there was not much light. On receiving the information, local police officers including DFO Gwalior reached the spot. The leopard's body is being taken to Kuno, where a panel of experts will conduct the postmortem.

Let us tell you that for the last few days, there is movement of cheetahs from Kuno to Gwalior and they are roaming in Ghatigaon area. According to the information, the dead leopard has been identified as KG-3 (female). Whereas KG-4 Cheetah is said to be missing.

It is noteworthy that two days ago, two leopards were seen in Golar valley of Karhiya police station area near Gwalior. Its video also went viral on social media, in which both the leopards were seen on the roadside amidst a herd of cattle. Some people passing by made their video on mobile, which later went viral. After receiving information about the presence of leopards in the area, the forest department team was continuously keeping an eye on them.
