Chief Minister Rekha Gupta herself has taken the lead in removing the problems faced by the people of Delhi due to air pollution and broken roads due to road dust.
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta herself has taken the lead in removing the problems faced by the people of Delhi due to air pollution and broken roads due to road dust. This problem is not going away due to lack of coordination between various departments.
In such a situation, the Chief Minister on Thursday held a joint meeting of senior officials of PWD, MCD, NDMC, DDA, Delhi Jal Board and Traffic Police to decide the quality standard framework in the matter of redevelopment of roads. Experts from CAQM, CSIR, School of Planning and Architecture also participated in this marathon meeting held in Kedarnath Sahni Auditorium of Civic Centre.
The objective of the meeting was to decide on an integrated framework for road construction, beautification, green belt, drainage and management and maintenance of public facilities in Delhi, so that better coordination can be ensured between all the agencies. In the meeting, experts presented detailed information on the capital's infrastructure, traffic management, urban design and improvement in public facilities.
The Chief Minister gave a blunt message to the officials that the government does not believe in blame game but in action and results. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided adequate budget for development works. There is no shortage of money in any work.
The problems of drains, drainage, roads and footpaths will be solved only when the officials themselves understand their responsibilities. Giving examples of Minto Bridge and RK Puram Underpass, he said that the problem was solved quickly only by coordination of all the departments.
Government cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravindra Indraj Singh and Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh and Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh were also present in the meeting.
CM laid emphasis on these things
The Chief Minister said that along with ensuring waste management, stopping open burning of garbage, setting up new biogas and green waste plants, wet waste management, new buildings should have facilities like zero waste, green and self-reliant, water harvesting, mist and anti-smog guns.
There is a delay in fixing responsibility among departmental officers: Pravesh Verma
Minister Pravesh Verma said in the meeting that many times there is a delay in fixing responsibilities among departmental officers and time is also wasted due to the interference of third agencies.
He inspired the officers to rise above personal and departmental interests and work with full devotion and dedication to make Delhi beautiful and clean. Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that the major cause of pollution is the dust accumulated on the roads, controlling which is the top priority of the government. Under the Winter Action Plan, road dust is also being removed from the roads on a large scale.
