Despite Dense Fog, Operation Of Trains Will Not Be Affected Now, This Device Will Tell The Signal

Jagran correspondent, Rae Bareli. Despite the dense fog, now the operation of trains will not be disrupted. Using modern technology, Railways has installed anti-fog devices in trains, which will enable safe operation. After this arrangement, the need of sending fog signal man and setting detonators (firecrackers) has almost ended. Gambhir Singh, Chief Crew Controller of Rae Bareli station, says that anti-fog devices have been installed in all the major trains operating through the station. This device is GPS based, which provides the upcoming signals, stations, crossings and other important information to the loco pilot in advance.

This allows drivers to remain alert while driving trains despite reduced visibility during fog. He said that before the fog, the trains used to run at 110 to 130 speed, but in the fog, the maximum speed of the trains was earlier fixed at 60 km per hour, but after the installation of anti fog device, it has increased to 75 km per hour.

This will not only improve punctuality but will also provide relief to passengers from unnecessary delays. Luminous strips have been installed on all types of signal posts. Along with this, line marking has been done on the signal sighting board, so that the signal can be easily identified even in fog.

Luminous strips have also been installed on the barriers installed at railway crossings. Chief Crew Controller said that all loco pilots and assistant loco pilots are being counseled regarding operation of trains in automatic block system during fog. They are being given information about precautions.
