Jagran correspondent, Yamunanagar. A case of love jihad has come to light with a divorced 32-year-old woman. A married Muslim youth lured her into a love trap and married her. Then he was taken to Deoband in Uttar Pradesh and converted. The accused kept her in a rented house with him.
Now he started being tortured. He started being beaten. Fed up with the harassment from her husband and in-laws, she attempted suicide by swallowing mercury. He was admitted to Swami Vivekananda Hospital. Where her treatment is going on. The magistrate took the statement of the victim in the case. After which the city Yamunanagar police station has registered a case.
The victim Rubina alias Rekha says that she has been divorced from her first husband. After that she was living separately. In the year 2020, she used to do private work. During this time she came in contact with Furkan, a resident of Arayanwala. At that time Furkan revealed his name as Ajay. The accused trapped her in love trap. Got married to her after a few days.
After marriage it was found out that the accused was a Muslim. He married by lying. The accused kept me with him in a rented house here in Prem Nagar. Later his family members also started coming here and meeting him. Then it was found out that the accused was already married. He also has two children. When I talked to him about this, he started beating me.
There was constant discord in the house. If we put pressure on him by taking him to his in-laws house, he would beat him. He went missing since January 12. When she went to his house, her brother Qurban and sisters abused her and beat her. Alleged that he was the one who made Furkan disappear. When she went to the police to lodge a complaint in this matter. Just then Furkan's call came. After which she came back home. Here also the accused beat him.
Name changed in Aadhar card
Rekha says that the accused Furkan got Rekha changed her name to Rubina. Got Aadhar card changed. The name of the accused's first wife is also Rubina. That's why she changed her name to Rubina. So that no one knows. The accused took him with him to Deoband. Where he got his religion converted. Made her wear a burqa.
Even the photos related to Hindu religion were burnt by the accused. It is alleged that around Rs 4 lakh was received after divorce from her first husband. Accused Furkan also took this. Apart from this, money has also been taken from other relatives. Now he is not even returning the money. His family members are refusing to accept him. I am troubled by his constant beatings.
