Jagran Correspondent, Varanasi: A fire broke out in a beauty parlor located in a commercial as well as a residential building on Wednesday night. People living in the building got trapped due to the strong flames and smoke. The fire brigade reached the spot after receiving information and extinguished the fire and evacuated the people safely. The fire prevention arrangements in the building will be investigated.

Vandana Singh runs a beauty parlor named Lips and Lesage on the second floor of the four-storey Urvashi Apartment located on Gandhi Nagar Labe Road. It has many more shops and showrooms. Some people live with their families on the third and fourth floors.

The parlor was closed for the night and at 8.30 pm the people living in the building saw strong flames coming out of it. By the time they tried to leave, the staircase was filled with smoke. Seeing no way out, the residents of the building went to the terrace and informed the fire brigade. Three fire brigade vehicles reached the spot. According to Chief Fire Officer Anand Singh Rajput, after receiving information that people were trapped in the apartment, they were first taken out safely through the stairs. Fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control after an hour of effort. The cause of the fire is said to be short circuit in the electrical wires. The loss is being estimated. At the same time, a fire broke out in the ruined house of Jalpa Devi locality of Chowk police station area. No one lived in it. Local Shubham Dhar Dubey told that the house belongs to his uncle and his family has left him. The fire brigade reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
