Jagran correspondent, Deoria. In the year 1999, while being SP in Deoria, former IPS Amitabh Thakur had purchased a plot in the industrial area of Deoria in the name of his wife Nutan Thakur. Later, due to dispute, he sold this plot.
In this case he was sent to jail on Wednesday. After which the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Manju Kumari sent the accused to jail in judicial custody for 14 days.
Amitabh started crying bitterly in the court. Amitabh said, I will be murdered in jail, save me. Give me 45 minutes, I want to write my entire story to you. Don't know whether I will survive tomorrow or not.
He said that he wants to tell something important to the court. On the way, he was shifted to other vehicles at three places. So he feared that now he might have an encounter, the police arrested him from Shahjahanpur railway platform and told that police is being provided to you for security. He was forced to sit in the car. His glasses are broken, and his mobile phone is taken away by the police.
Two hours of interrogation took place in the police station.
Lucknow Police had reached Deoria Kotwali with former IPS Amitabh Thakur on Wednesday morning. Entry of outsiders into the Kotwali remained prohibited from morning till afternoon.
Secrecy was maintained throughout the day regarding the matter. There was panic in the police department regarding this entire matter. After the news of arrival of former IPS Amitabh Thakur at the Kotwali, a crowd of people started gathering. In such a situation, the police took him elsewhere.
