Jagran correspondent, Ghazipur. A major step was taken towards making the cow protection system transparent and accountable. All 60 cow shelters in the district will now be monitored through CCTV cameras.
So that the nutrition, fodder arrangement and care of the cows can be monitored daily. For this, a control room will be set up in Vikas Bhawan.
Chief Development Officer Santosh Kumar Vaish, in the meeting of the District Level Monitoring, Evaluation and Review Committee held in the Collectorate Auditorium, expressed strong displeasure over the very low progress of sowing of green fodder for the protected cows in the cow shelters.
He instructed all the block development officers to prepare an action plan for growing green fodder on the pasture land according to the number of cows within three days.
By holding monthly review meetings in each development block, availability of chaff, green fodder and bran in the cow shelters should be ensured as per the standard. Where green fodder is not available, it was asked to immediately make arrangements for silage.
Chief Veterinary Officer AK Shahi said that the work of installing CCTV in all 60 cow shelters of the district is in progress, out of which cameras have been installed in 14 cow shelters. Besides, printed registers will be provided to all cow shelters for maintaining records as per the standards.
