Jagran correspondent, Sewrahi. Under the policy of strengthening the major roads connected to the inter-state border, the state government has given administrative and financial approval for the widening and strengthening work of Ahiraulidan to Pipraghat Dam (Zero Dam) road. 3.40 crore will be spent on widening of the 1.300 km long road from Ahiroulidan intersection to Sallepur on Bihar border. Rs 1.70 crore has been released as the first installment. MLA Dr. Asim Kumar Rai had taken initiative at the government level for widening of the road.
On behalf of the Government's Deputy Secretary Abhay Pratap Srivastava, a letter has been sent to the Chief Engineer (Development) and the Head of the Department, directing them to complete the further process. The condition of this route of AP Dam from Ahiroulidan intersection to Sallepur on Bihar border was dilapidated for a long time. It was having an adverse impact on border traffic, disaster management and local business activities.
In view of this problem, the MLA had sent a letter to the Chief Minister demanding widening and strengthening of the road. Regional need, border connectivity and its necessity from security point of view were the main bases in support of the demand. The project was approved after testing at the government level.
The Public Works Department has started preparations to complete the work as per quality, as per prescribed standards and in time bound manner. The MLA said that after the completion of the project, traffic in the border area will be easy and quick transport facility will be available.
