Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. MP Dr. Rajkumar Sangwan has proposed to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari that if the 80 km long National Highway-Link Expressway from Panipat via Chhaprauli, Barnawa, Pura Mahadev is connected to the Ganga Expressway (Meerut), then it will become the largest religious-economic corridor connecting eight states of North India. The MP said that this route will develop as a national connectivity spine connecting many major highways and corridors. With this link, road connectivity to Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will become simple, fast and safe.

Religious and economic centers of North India like Ayodhya, Haridwar, Prayagraj, Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Kolkata's Gangasagar will be connected through a single route. This proposed connection can take the form of India's largest religious-tourism route, which will benefit crores of devotees and travelers. This route will also give a new identity to Baghpat from the tourism point of view.

Lakshagriha of Mahabharata period of Barnawa and ancient Shivdham of Pura Mahadev will be able to emerge at the national level. As soon as this route is ready, hotel industry, food business, local handicrafts, guide services, transport and small industries will grow rapidly in Baghpat. This road will prove to be a decisive step for Baghpat from industrial and commercial point of view. This link between large industrial areas like Panipat, Sonipat, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Delhi will give Baghpat a central trading role. This expressway link will also be extremely important for pilgrims and long distance travelers. At present, passengers going to Delhi-Haridwar-Varanasi-Kolkata have to face the problems of congestion, traffic and long distance.

Demand letter for establishment of High Court bench given to Union Law Minister, Baghpat. RLD MP Dr Rajkumar Sangwan met Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Thursday. The MP handed over a letter to him demanding setting up a division bench of the High Court in Western Uttar Pradesh. The MP took time to meet the members of the struggle committee formed for the demand of a High Court bench. The Law Minister has said to meet within two weeks.

The MP told the Union Minister that Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country, with a population of more than 25 crores, but for such a huge state, only one High Court, Allahabad, and its sole Lucknow bench are functioning. Especially the citizens of about 22 districts of Western Uttar Pradesh have to travel 500-700 kilometers to Allahabad to get justice. People from many districts have to go via Lucknow first, due to which there is loss of time, money and labour.

The MP said that as per the available data, more than 52 per cent of the cases pending in the Allahabad High Court relate to Western Uttar Pradesh. Despite this, no bench of the High Court has been established in this area till now. The citizens here are facing difficulties in getting quick, cheap and easy justice. On 26 November, all the MPs were surrounded by the advocates of Meerut Bar Association regarding this demand.
