Police has taken major action in the case of cough syrup smuggling in Sonbhadra.
Jagran correspondent, Sonbhadra. The district police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each on four accused of smuggling cough syrup. In this, the mastermind of smuggling, Shubham Jaiswal, resident of Prahlad Ghat Kayastha Tola of Varanasi is also included. Police have already issued a lookout notice against these accused.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma said that strict action is being taken against the criminals related to cough syrup under the policy of zero tolerance. A reward has been announced for the arrest of the absconding accused.
This includes Shubham Jaiswal of Varanasi, Vishal Upadhyay, resident of Ashok Vihar Colony of Sarsawa police station area of Saharanpur, Nishant alias Ravi Gupta, resident of Nai Bazaar Chandni Chowk of Bhadohi and Vijay Gupta, resident of Gola Dinanath Kabir Chaura of police station area of Varanasi.
The police are making continuous efforts to arrest all four. Shubham Jaiswal's father Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, proprietor of Shaili Traders Ranchi Jharkhand, was arrested by the police from Kolkata airport on 30 November. He was trying to flee abroad but was caught. Presently he is detained in District Jail Gurma.
Apart from this, the police had arrested Varanasi resident Satyam Kumar, proprietor of Maa Kripa Medical, on December 17 near Chandi Tirahe in Robertsganj when he was coming to meet his advocate. Bhola Prasad Jaiswal alone had made illegal assets worth about Rs 35 crore by smuggling cough syrup, the district police has started action to confiscate it.
Bhola Jaiswal has also received the notice issued by the court in this matter. The accused declared with reward also include Vijay Gupta, who is the brother of previously arrested Satyam Gupta. He had also smuggled a large number of cup syrup from his firm.
