Sports Desk, New Delhi. Indian wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul scored a century at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. In the second ODI against New Zealand on Wednesday, Rahul played an unbeaten inning of 112 runs on 92 balls. During this, he hit 11 fours and 1 six. KL Rahul has been consistently performing well as a finisher in ODIs.
Rahul landed at number 5 and made 2 records
Rahul came to bat when India's score was 115 for three and soon Virat Kohli was out after scoring 23 runs. However, he batted for around 30 overs. Rahul has registered his name in the record books with the century. He has become the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a century against New Zealand in ODI. Not only this, he is also the first Indian to score an ODI century in Rajkot.

Rahul completed his eighth ODI century by hitting a six on a full toss ball from Kyle Jamieson in the 49th over. This wicketkeeper-batsman from Karnataka completed his century in just 87 balls. Since 2025, Rahul has been batting continuously in the middle order. Rahul, who came to bat at number five, started slowly and played six dot balls. He opened his account on the seventh ball.

Thanks to KL Rahul's century, the Indian team reached a fighting total. The Indian team scored 284 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs. Captain Shubhman Gill scored a half-century. Gill scored 56 runs in 53 balls with the help of 9 fours and 1 six. Ravindra Jadeja contributed 27 runs, Rohit Sharma contributed 24 runs and Virat Kohli contributed 23 runs. KL Rahul led India to victory by playing an unbeaten inning of 29 runs in 21 balls in the first ODI of the series.
