Digital Desk, Jabalpur. In Satna, the case of transfusion of HIV infected blood to children suffering from thalassemia took the form of high voltage drama on Sunday. There was a heated argument between Human Rights Commission member Priyank Kanungo and district administrative officials, after which the matter reached social media. Priyank Kanungo posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter) and made serious allegations against the district administration and claimed to suppress the matter.

Actually, Priyank Kanungo got angry with the City SDM and CMHO in-charge when the children suffering from HIV scandal were not found present in the Circuit House with their families at seven in the morning. On this he took the officials to task and asked why the victims were not brought there themselves.

However, CMHO in-charge Dr. Manoj Shukla clarified that the relatives of the victims live in rural areas and while expressing their inability to come at seven in the morning, they had agreed to meet after ten o'clock. Despite this, the members of the Human Rights Commission appeared to be in no mood to accept any explanation.

Message came at night, controversy arose in the morning

According to district administrative officials, during his stay in Katni, Priyank Kanungo had sent a message to the City SDM at around 9 pm, expressing his desire to meet the victims at the Circuit House at 7 am. When the victims did not reach there in the morning, a dispute arose. Officials say that the family members had also given the option to meet at home.

Here, Priyank Kanungo was to attend the human rights dialogue program organized at Deendayal Research Institute at eight in the morning. Meanwhile, he accused the administration of suppressing the matter and left for Chitrakoot.

There was no pre-determined schedule

According to administrative sources, no pre-determined program of Priyank Kanungo to meet HIV victims was neither released nor officially decided. It is noteworthy that the authorized team of Human Rights Commission is going to come to Satna on 29th to record the statements of the victims.
