Cyber fraud case registered in Jamui.

Communication partner, Jamui. The latest case of how costly it can be to take help from an unknown person in the bank has come to light in Canara Bank located in Hathiya village of Jhajha. Here, miscreants broke into the account of an elderly woman and made illegal withdrawal of Rs 92 thousand. The irony is that the guard who was responsible for security had introduced the victim to the helpful thug. Actually, account holder Satyabhama Devi and her son Santosh Kumar Pandey, residents of Pandedih of Jhajha police station area, applied in the police station on Wednesday.

No information was received due to mobile number not being linked

Santosh told that on May 15, 2025, he had gone to the bank with his mother to withdraw money. When the signatures did not match, the bank guard asked him to seek help from a young man. The young man got it signed and withdrew five thousand rupees and gave it. The family thought that the account was safe, but the young man had laid the foundation of the fraud at that very moment. On Tuesday, when Santosh went with his parents to withdraw Rs 30,000, they came to know that there was not even a single rupee left in the account. On taking out the statement, it was revealed that a total of Rs 92 thousand had been withdrawn on different dates since May 22.

Manager refused to give information

The account of the victim's family was not linked to the mobile number, due to which no alert message of withdrawal was received. Taking advantage of this, the swindlers kept withdrawing money. ASI Rajesh Singh has started investigation in the matter and Police Station Head Sanjay Kumar Singh has assured action. However, when the branch manager was questioned in this regard, he maintained silence and refused to say anything. Such cases have come here before also.
