Rahul Shukla, Kanpur. KDA has started preparations to build a 500-bed super specialty hospital on 4500 square meter land of Georgina MacRobert Memorial Hospital located in MacRobertganj. The hospital will be built under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. In this, an action plan is being prepared keeping the poor in mind. A consultant company will soon be appointed to prepare the action plan. The hospital will have all modern facilities. Arrangements for parking will also be made. Apart from this, rooms will be made for people to stay. The construction of the hospital will benefit the people of the north and center of the city.
The Cabinet has transferred the land to KDA for building a super specialty hospital at Georgina MacRobert Memorial Hospital located in MacRobertganj. Government order has also been issued. Here KDA will build a super specialty hospital under the PPP model. Preparations are being made to build a 500 bed hospital with all the modern medical facilities. For this, a blueprint is being prepared by the Town Planning Department of KDA so that the tender process can be conducted and the hospital can be brought on the ground. The government has clearly said that if the land is not used within three years, it will be returned. Also, the land should be used only for the purpose for which it has been given.
For this, in the mandate given to the District Magistrate by Principal Secretary P Guruprasad, it has been said that there should not be any building of religious or historical importance on Nazul land. If the said transferred Nazul land is used for a proposal other than the proposed work, then permission should be taken again from the Housing and Urban Planning Department. KDA's Chief City Planner Manoj Kumar said that a super specialty hospital will be built on the land located at MacRobertganj through PPP model. There are preparations to build a hospital with five hundred beds so that more and more people can get benefits. Apart from this there will be other facilities also. Consultant will be selected for this.
The Georgina MacRobert Memorial Hospital was built on 16 March 1816 during the British rule on about 12 acres of land located in Civil Lines. According to the stone plaque in the hospital, the hospital's owner at that time, James Scarzy Meston, had built this hospital in memory of his wife. The British government prepared a trust for this hospital and the responsibility was handed over to a committee of 11 members.
