Miscreant injured by police bullet. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. The police had an encounter with three robbers on Dahlan Road in Rawatpur late on Wednesday night. One of the robbers was shot in the leg while his two accomplices fled from the spot. The injured robber, along with his accomplice, had committed the robbery with a retired woman sub-inspector 14 days ago. At present, the police has admitted the accused robber to the CHC and is busy searching for his accomplices.
Deputy Jailer Gyanendra Swaroop Dubey, resident of Keshavpuram, Rawatpur, had an incident of chain robbery with his wife Manjulata, a retired inspector from CBCID, from outside their house on January 8. After the chain robbery in broad daylight, senior police officials had also reached the spot.
To uncover the matter, the police used AD Choti's force. First, at the police station level, then after circle and district, the police expanded the scope of investigation to non-districts. The help of surveillance and tower location was taken and dozens of hotels, lodges and local networks were investigated. Till now, along with checking about 1200 CC cameras, a hundred suspects had been interrogated.
Despite this, the robbers were not caught by the police. Late night, the Rawatpur Police Crime Branch team stopped a bike rider who looked suspicious on Dalhan Road. Three youths riding the bike tried to escape and the police opened fire. In retaliation, one robber was shot in the leg while his two accomplices managed to escape from the spot.

The injured robber has been admitted to CHC. During police interrogation, the robber was originally identified as Niaz Ahmed, a resident of Sakraura village of West Colonelganj, Gonda. At present, Niaz Ahmed was living in Double Tank Kakori, Dubagga, Lucknow, his absconding partner Vijay and one other are said to be.
A country-made pistol, two live cartridges and forty-five hundred rupees have been recovered from the accused. The accused has confessed to the incident of robbery with a retired female inspector. DCP West SM Qasim Abidi said that accused robber Niaz Ahmed was shot in the leg. There are 19 cases registered against Niaz including gangster in Unnao and Lucknow. His associates are being searched.
