Samvad Sutra, Semapur (Katihar). Due to shortage of passenger trains on Katihar-Barauni railway section, passengers of Semapur, Kadaghola Road, Bakhri and Kursela are facing a lot of problems. Despite Katihar being the district headquarters, the interval of trains on this route is so high that it has become a compulsion for the passengers to wait for hours at the station. According to the information, after the departure of 63303 passenger train from Katihar at 12:15 pm, the next passenger train 63301 is directly available at 06:10 pm, which means passengers have to wait for the next train for about six hours. In such a situation, if for some reason the train is missed, the passengers have to sit at the station for a long time.
One has to wait for several hours after the train leaves
The situation is no different in the down line also. The train running from Barauni reaches Katihar at 08:20 am, while the next passenger train 63304 is scheduled at 15:35 am. In this way, the second passenger train becomes available after a long gap of about seven hours. Former chief Ajay Singh said that despite being the district headquarters, the condition of train services on this railway section is very disappointing. Even today, only four pairs of passenger trains are available running since the time of independence, whose timetable is not providing any significant benefit to the local passengers. Sanjay Sah told that he was waiting for down passenger 63302 since 07:10 in the morning which reached Kadhagola Road at 10:05 and stayed there for 30 minutes.
Due to important work in Katihar, it could not be completed now. Avinash Kumar said that relatives were coming from Bihpur, but the train arrived hours late. Pappu Yadav told that due to 63301 passenger train, he was delayed by two hours in reaching Katihar. Sardar Jagdeep Singh said that the historical Gurudwara of Sikhs is situated on Kadhagola Road, where devotees come from far and wide. Stoppages of express trains are limited and the number of passenger trains is only four pairs. Which is not enough. The Sikh Sangat coming from Katihar also had to wait for the passenger train for more than four hours.
