Fighting in Congress meeting in Madhubani. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Madhubani. There was chaos during the program of Congress state president Rajesh Ram and former CLP leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan in Madhubani when a clash broke out between two groups of party workers.
First there was an altercation at the venue, which soon escalated into pushing and kicking. There was also a fight between the two groups with sticks carrying party flags, due to which the program was disrupted for some time.
It is being told that this meeting was called at the district level to review the defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. Meanwhile, angry workers clashed among themselves over alleged arbitrariness in ticket distribution. State President Rajesh Ram and former legislative party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan kept explaining to the workers, but the situation could not be brought under control immediately.
Deputy Mayor and Congress leader Amanullah Khan said that some workers were angry over the distribution of tickets. All are Congress people and the solution should have been found through talks only. He said that the final decision on the ticket list was taken from Delhi.
