Jagran correspondent, Buxar. Bihar government has taken a big step to make the process of land measurement in the district more simple and citizen-friendly.
In the light of Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (as amended), Bihar Tenancy (Amendment) Act, 2017, related rules and amendments, important changes have been made in the land measurement system to achieve the goal of the seventh pillar of 'Ease of Living' of the Seven Decisions-3 (2025-30) of the State Government.
Under this new system, the process of land measurement will be made more transparent, time bound and easier. Applicants will now have to apply online.
During the application itself, the land will have to be selected as undisputed (mutual consent among all the parties) or disputed (disagreements among the parties). In disputed cases, the Circle Officer will decide the definition of the dispute.
Target to reduce all pending measurement applications received by 31st December to zero
Maapi Maha Abhiyan will be run especially in Buxar district. This campaign will start from 26 January and run till 31 March.
During this period, a target has been set to reduce all the pending measurement applications received by 31 December 2025 to zero. This system will be effective in entire Bihar, but it is being fully implemented in Buxar also.
To ensure the success of the campaign, special survey officers are being deputed. These Amins will be deputed by the Settlement Officer, Buxar as per requirement, zone wise and division wise.
The settlement officer will coordinate with the concerned zonal officers and get the measurement work done smoothly in all the zones from 26 January 2026 to 31 March 2026.
