Jagran correspondent, Azamgarh. Keeping in mind the convenience of the devotees going to Prayagraj during Magh Mela, the Transport Department has intensified its efforts. 400 buses will operate from Azamgarh region to Prayagraj.
This will provide easy, safe and accessible transportation facilities to the passengers during the fair period. With special management on Mauni Amavasya, buses from seven depots will serve the devotees from January 13. The fair will be run by putting stickers on the buses so that the devotees can know which bus is going to Magh Mela.
Every day lakhs of devotees reach Prayagraj for the Sangam bath during Magh Mela. In view of this crowd, additional buses will be deployed from various depots of the area. These buses will operate as per the scheduled time table from morning till late night. The Transport Department will provide facilities for smooth and safe travel of the devotees from January 13 to January 24.
Due to Mauni Amavasya on January 18, if necessary, some buses will be increased to accommodate the crowd of devotees. Additional drivers and conductors are also being deployed by the Transport Department on major routes.
Besides, technical inspection of buses is being ensured. In view of the possible jam and crowd during Magh Mela, additional personnel will be deployed at major intersections and bus stands, so that smooth movement of buses is maintained.
Extensive preparations have been made in view of the Magh Mela. Devotees going from Azamgarh to Prayagraj will get relief. If the number of devotees increases, the buses kept in reserve will also be put into service immediately.-Manoj Bajpayee, RM.
