Jagran correspondent, Ara. On Saturday evening, in Bhakura village of Mufassil police station area, an armed miscreant shot a young man who had come for the funeral rites. The bullet touched the right hand and hit the right chest.

The injured youth was 25 year old Sujit Kumar alias Golu Kumar, resident of Baligaon of Ayer police station. He is the son of Santosh Singh. He has been admitted to a private hospital located at Babu Bazaar in Arrah city.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the firing took place over a dispute over an illicit relationship. As soon as information about the incident was received, Mofussil police station incharge Deepak Kumar reached the spot with the police force and started investigation.

Wife's illicit relationship became the reason

During this time, DSP Raj Kumar also reached the hospital and investigated the incident. It is said that Golu Kumar was married five years ago. It is alleged that the wife had an illicit relationship with a young man, due to which there was a dispute going on between the two.

On Saturday evening, Golu had reached Bhakura village to participate in the funeral rites. During this time, he met his wife's alleged lover Hariom, where an altercation took place between the two.

It is alleged that when the dispute escalated, the youth opened fire on Golu, seriously injuring him. On the other hand, the treating surgeon, Dr. Vikas Singh, said that the bullet had hit the right hand, pierced the rib and came out from the back.

Due to this his lungs and ribs have been damaged. The operation will be done after CT scan. At present the condition of the injured remains critical. The police is investigating the case.

33 arrested in other cases including attempt to murder

On the orders of SP Raj, 33 people were arrested in the raid operation conducted for arrest of wanted accused in the case and recovery of liquor. During this period, one person was arrested for attempt to murder, two for SC-ST, two for attack on police force and nine for warrant.

During the operation, 76 liters of country liquor and 281 liters of English liquor were recovered. Ten were caught for drinking and three for selling liquor. During this period, 69 warrants and nine seizures were executed. Around 1100 vehicles were checked and a fine of Rs 2 lakh was collected.
