Man Sets Himself On Fire Outside Bombay High Court Premises

Digital Desk, New Delhi. A man attempted suicide by setting himself on fire outside the Bombay High Court on Monday. Policemen and some passersby immediately intervened and extinguished the fire.

The police officer said that a person named Prakash Sawant was admitted to a government hospital in South Mumbai. He has suffered 50 percent burns. The incident occurred due to a dispute between Sawant, a resident of Sindhudurg district, and a lawyer over filing a case in the court.

What did the police tell?

Police said Sawant had allegedly paid Rs 80,000 to the lawyer to file the case in the high court. However, the lawyer did not register the case. Police are investigating this incident.
