Muzaffarpur News: Irregularity In Fertilizer Establishments, 19 Licens Suspended

WhatsApp group of MPs and MLAs will be formed for fertilizer monitoring.

Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Muzaffarpur News: In the meeting of the District Fertilizer Committee, the availability, storage, sale, residue, monitoring and inspection system of fertilizers as well as the situation of wholesalers and retailers were reviewed.

Necessary suggestions were also taken from the MLAs and Legislative Councilors in the meeting held under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Subrata Kumar Sen. District Agriculture Officer said that continuous inspection and action is being taken on the instructions of the District Magistrate.

So far, 286 raids have been conducted during Rabi crop 2025, in which irregularities were found in 33 establishments. Licenses of 19 establishments were suspended, licenses of 11 establishments were cancelled, while FIRs were registered against three establishments.

The District Magistrate gave the task of organizing assembly wise meetings by coordinating with the local MLAs in Gaighat, Meenapur, Kanti, Paru and Aurai assembly constituencies.

Wholesalers and retailers, block level officials and agriculture department officials will participate in the meetings, so that fertilizers can be provided to the farmers uninterruptedly with mutual coordination. The District Agriculture Officer was instructed to form a WhatsApp group of MPs and all MLAs.

Updated information about availability, sale and residue of fertilizer will be shared every week in this group, so that public representatives can get information about the actual situation and any problem can be resolved quickly. The agriculture officer said that at present there are 35 wholesalers and 1,442 retailers in the district.

A total of 25,368.745 metric tons of urea is available in the district, out of which 14,963.265 metric tons has been sold, while 10,405.480 metric tons of urea is in stock. Legislative councilor Dinesh Prasad Singh, MLA and former minister E. Ajit Kumar, MLA Ajay Kumar, MLA Komal Singh and other public representatives were present in the meeting.

The District Agriculture Officer said that the total availability of DAP is 16,074.500 metric tons, out of which 11,505.700 metric tons have been sold and 4,568.800 metric tons are left.

The total availability of NPK is 17,241.274 MT, of which 7,746.700 MT has been sold, while 9,494.574 MT is in stock. The total availability of MOP is 7,111.996 MT, out of which 4,917.951 MT has been sold and 2,194.045 MT is available.
