Digital Desk, Dhanbad. On Thursday, January 1, the first day of the New Year 2026, important changes were seen in the Dhanbad administration. The new Municipal Commissioner of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation, the new Deputy Development Commissioner of Dhanbad and the Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) took charge of their respective posts simultaneously. The special thing was that all three officers reached Dhanbad on the very first day of the New Year and took charge and saw it as an auspicious occasion.
The state government had issued transfer-posting orders of a total of 15 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on December 31, the last day of the year 2025. In this sequence, Ashish Gangwar was appointed the new Municipal Commissioner of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation. Sunny Raj has been made the Deputy Development Commissioner of Dhanbad, while Lokesh Barangay has been given the responsibility of Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer. In the Municipal Corporation office, Ashish Gangwar duly took charge from former Municipal Commissioner Sunday Sharma. He talked about giving priority to the city's cleanliness, civic facilities and development works. On the other hand, Lokesh Barangay, while taking over from Sadar SDM Uday Rajak, pledged to make the administrative work transparent and public welfare.
Similarly, Sunny Raj took charge of the Deputy Development Commissioner of Dhanbad. He stressed on expediting the development works of the district and effective implementation of the schemes. With the three officers assuming charge on the first day of the new year, it is expected that new energy and momentum will be brought to the administrative activities in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner of Dhanbad posted the information about the contribution of the three officers on Facebook. After assuming charge, the three officers made their respective priorities clear.
