Vineet Dubey, Mathura. At around 2 o'clock on Monday night, several vehicles running at high speed collided with each other amid dense fog on the Yamuna Expressway lane going from Agra to Noida. Seven buses and two cars caught fire. Many people were trapped inside the vehicles, some saved their lives by jumping off the buses. So far four people have been confirmed dead. More than 150 hundred injured have been admitted to the hospital.

The incident took place at mile stone number 125 near village Khadehra of Baldev police station area. Due to dense fog there was zero visibility at night. Due to this, the drivers of the vehicles moving ahead could not see each other and the vehicles collided with each other. The collision was so strong that the vehicles caught fire.

All seven buses and two cars were engulfed in massive fire. As soon as the fire broke out, there was screaming in the buses. Passengers somehow saved their lives by jumping from the windows. While they remained trapped inside. Buses and cars were badly damaged due to the collision. The fire was brought under control by about a dozen fire brigades that reached the spot. After the accident, traffic on the expressway lane from Agra to Noida came to a complete halt.

The vehicles were removed with a crane and moved to the side.

SSP Shlok Kumar said that four passengers have burnt to death. A large number of people have been injured. They are being admitted to hospitals through more than 20 ambulances.

DM CP Singh and SSP Shlok Kumar have also reached the spot. The dead have not been identified yet. Most of those who died were going towards Delhi from districts like Mau, Azamgarh etc.
