Jagran correspondent, Jamshedpur. A heart-wrenching accident took place on Saturday in Chhota Gamharia area under Gamharia block.

Here, while cooking food in Arjun Mandal's house, the pressure cooker exploded like a powerful bomb. Due to this massive explosion, two women present in the kitchen and an innocent child of just six months were seriously injured. The explosion was so powerful that not only the cooker's lids were blown away, but the roof of the house was also damaged.

Preparations for lunch were going on in Arjun Mandal's house. Parvati Mandal and her daughter-in-law Bhavani Mandal were working in the kitchen. There was also six month old little Ion Mandal nearby.

Suddenly the pressure inside the pressure cooker increased so much that it burst with a horrific sound. The explosion was so intense that the sharp pieces of iron from the cooker spread around the room like missiles, due to which all three people present there were left bleeding.

There was chaos due to the sound of the explosion.

Hearing the sound of the explosion, there was panic in the entire colony and people, fearing something untoward, ran towards Arjun Mandal's house.

Immediately after the incident, local villagers and neighbors showed courage and wisdom. Amidst the smoke and screams rising from inside the room, people immediately took out Parvati Mandal, Bhavani Mandal and innocent Ayan. Without wasting any time, the injured were taken to nearby Gamharia Hospital.

Villagers say that the explosion was so powerful that the lid of the cooker and the body parts were bent and turned into pellets.

According to the doctors of the hospital, due to timely treatment, the condition of the three injured is now under control. However, the family members and people around are in deep shock after the accident.

Eyewitnesses said that if a large piece of the cooker had directly hit the innocent child, the consequences could have been even more fatal. Police and local administration have also been informed about this incident.

Experts believe that such fatal accidents often occur due to jamming or poor quality of the safety valve of the cooker.
