Purnia Airport Will Soon Get Connectivity With NH 31, Committee Formed For Land Survey.

Jagran correspondent, Purnia. Soon Purnia Airport will get connectivity with NH 31. The district administration has started initiatives for this. DM Anshul Kumar has directed the Executive Engineer of Road Division Purnia to conduct a detailed survey to connect Purnia Airport to NH-31 and submit the report soon.

DM has formed a committee for this. This committee will select the route for connectivity with NH 31, after which the work of acquiring land will begin. Sadar SDO Partha Gupta, Executive Engineer Road Division, Municipal Commissioner, Chief Security Officer Purnia, Airport Zonal Officer, City and District Land Acquisition Officer have been nominated in the committee.

DM has held a review meeting with the Airport Authority and concerned officials on the problems related to aircraft operations at Purnia Airport and points related to establishing connectivity with NH 31.

15.99 acres of land will be acquired for connectivity with NH

An MoU was signed with the Airport Authority of India in the year 2023. This also included the condition of acquiring 15 acres of land for connectivity with NH. But till now the said land has not been acquired and passengers have to face problems in traveling to and from the airport. But now the administration has started initiatives for this.

The DM has directed the concerned authorities to provide all relevant data for the acquisition of 15.99 acres of land for setting up the approach siting system at Purnia Airport. He said that after receiving approval from the Defense Ministry, further action will be taken immediately. The DM has instructed the Station Commander of Chunapur Air Force to establish coordination in this regard at his level.

Fire fighters will be given specific training

The DM has also instructed the District Fire Officer to depute fire personnel at the Air Force Airport as per the requirement. In case the fire personnel go on leave, instructions were given to depute the substitute. For this, the DM directed to send the personnel to the training institute for specific training.

The expenditure on training will be borne by the Aviation Authority of India. For the operation of fire fighting vehicles, drivers have been instructed to get training in coordination with the District Transport Officer at the local training site.

At the same time, the Civil Surgeon was instructed to ensure the availability of medical officers, paramedical staff and ambulances at Chunapur Airport and the newly constructed interim terminal building. Instructions have also been given to provide the roster of deputed health workers.

Instructions for payment of honorarium to civil defense volunteers

Civil Defense volunteers have been deputed to keep birds and animals away from the airstrip. The DM ordered the Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar cum Deputy Controller Civil Defense to pay one month's honorarium to those volunteers from the immediately available amount. The Director of the Interim Terminal Building was asked to ensure that funds are made available for payment of honorarium to the deputed Civil Defense personnel as soon as possible.

Sadar SDO, District Fire Officer, Director of Purnia Airport, Station Commander of Air Force Airport, representative of Civil Surgeon, Assistant Engineer Road Division Purnia, Chief Security Officer of Purnia Airport, District Land Acquisition Officer, Additional District Land Acquisition Officer and Kennagar Zonal Officer were present in the meeting.
