This also includes the work of increasing the width of the foot bridge under construction. The ticket counter is creating hindrance in increasing the width in the south direction. About five months ago, the departmental officer had given instructions to upgrade the station building to three storeys and shift the ticket counter, so that the width of the foot bridge could be increased.
The work of extending platform numbers one and two to the east has also been started. Along with this, work will also be done to connect the building with the new foot bridge. At present, modernization of the entrance, development of circulating area and construction of portico shed is being done by Gati Shakti Unit.
Let us tell you that the 140 year old Sasaram Railway Station is important from the historical and tourist point of view along with being the district headquarters. From here every day a large number of travelers come and go to tourist places like Shershah Tomb, Durgavati Reservoir, Gupta Dham, Tarachandi Dham, Chacha Phagumal Gurudwara, Shergarh Fort, Pilot Baba Dham, Tutla Bhawani Dham, Indrapuri Dam, Rohtasgarh Fort.
Sasaram will prove to be a lifeline for the Railways in the coming days, because the Railways has decided to conduct the final location survey for the doubling of the Sasaram-Ara railway section. The amount has been approved for this.
After doubling, the railway section will be connected to DFACCIL rail line at Sasaram. This is the reason why a rail flyover and an ROR are being constructed to connect Howrah and New Delhi. This is expected to increase rail connectivity in Sasaram.
