Entertainment Desk, New Delhi. There was a time when stars were cast on the basis of budget. The bigger the budget, the bigger the star. But in today's time, the budget of the film has become less and the fees of the actors have increased. Recently, Actor Imran Khan has expressed his displeasure on this system of Bollywood.
Imran Khan said that today people are spending more money on stars who can benefit and there is no harm in it. The actor says that the stars are taking advantage of the system. He praised his maternal uncle Aamir Khan, who used to invest in films himself and this did not mean investing his own money, but taking ownership of the film.
Stars' fees exceed the film's budget
In an interview to ETimes, Imran Khan targeted Bollywood and said, "If I think it will cost Rs 30 crore to make my film, then that is your production cost and I say I will charge Rs 40 crore. So now the cost of your film has become Rs 70 crore, out of which Rs 30 crore is the actual cost of the film and Rs 40 crore is my personal salary."
Imran Khan further said, "Now what is our way of making profit? And do I care about it? I should care about it. This is my film. I think this film has the potential to be a good film, so take less money initially. Try your luck. Take a gamble and bet that the film will do well. If anyone can do that, he is the star."

Aamir Khan does not take first fee
Imran Khan said that his maternal uncle Aamir Khan also had the same style. He told that Aamir never took his fees in advance. He never charged Rs 60 crore or Rs 75 crore as fees. He said, "This is stupid. You are hurting your own film. You are taking advantage of your own film and making yourself rich at the expense of the film. That's what it is. What it really means is that you don't trust or believe in the film."
Imran gave this advice to the lead stars
Imran Khan says that the stars who charge high fees do not really have faith in the film, that is why they take the fees in advance. He said, "I believe that whoever is in the lead role, on whose strength the film is being funded and financed, if they are not financially secure enough to bet on the success and quality of the film, then who else can bet?"
