According to officials, under this project, about 110 kilometers of railway line will be doubled, which is estimated to cost a total of Rs 700 crore. Railways has completed the tender process for this, setting a target to complete the work in three years.

Land acquisition work started, preparation for site handover to construction agency

According to railway sources, in the initial phase of the project, the work of land acquisition, measurement, preparation of route map and identification of obstructed areas is being done by the Railways. Joint survey is also going on with the administrative officials of different districts- Bhojpur, Rohtas, so that the site can be transferred to the construction agency as soon as possible.

Officials say that speeding up the process of land acquisition will speed up the construction work and the hope of completing the target on time has increased. The commencement of Ara-Sasaram doubling project, which was pending for almost a decade, has raised hopes among the people that in the coming times, this area will establish new dimensions of rail connectivity and industrial development.

Railways aims to complete this project within three years, so that both passengers and industries can benefit.

Pressure on railway network will reduce, main line will get big relief

Doubling of Ara-Sasaram railway section will be of great help in reducing the increasing pressure on the main line. At present, due to the high number of trains on the Danapur-Mughalsarai main line, operations are sometimes affected. After the construction of the double line, the ability to divert trains and manage them better will increase.

According to railway officials, after doubling, more trains will be able to run on this route, which will provide better transportation facilities to the passengers every day. Besides, the operating time will reduce and the problem of delay will also be relieved.

Chausa power plant will get big facility, revenue will increase for railways

Chausa Thermal Power Plant will also get a big benefit from this project. Currently, it takes a lot of time and cost to bring coal to the plant. After completion of the new doubling, transportation of coal coming from Dhanbad region of Jharkhand will become faster and easier, which will have a positive impact on the production capacity of the plant.

This doubling will also become a big revenue source for the Railways. There is a possibility of significant increase in the earnings of Railways due to smooth operation of heavy goods trains.

At present, limited trains are operating, numbers will increase after doubling.

At present, about half a dozen trains, including two express and several passenger trains, run regularly on the Ara-Sasaram section. Due to being a single line, many times trains have to wait for passing and timely operations are affected.

The Railway Department says that after the completion of doubling, both the speed and number of existing trains will increase along with the operation of new trains on this route. With this, lakhs of passengers of Bhojpur, Rohtas and Kaimur districts will get better rail facilities.

Enthusiasm among local people, new path of development

Local public representatives and people of the area are considering this project as important from the point of view of regional development. He says that doubling will also increase employment opportunities in the area and with strengthened railway connectivity, people will save both time and cost in long distance travel.

A tender has been issued for doubling of Ara Sasaram railway section under DDU Railway Division, but it has asked for survey and acquisition of land. The land is being measured, after which the work of laying the railway line will begin. Saraswati Chandra, Chief Information Public Relations Officer of Hajipur Railway Zone.
