Correspondent, Jagran, Lakhisarai. Under the Bihar Sand Mining Policy, 2019 and Bihar Mineral (Submission, Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transport and Storage) Rules, 2019, fresh settlement of selected sand ghats of the district will be done by the Mines and Geology Department through e-auction.

This settlement will remain in force for the next four years or till the validity period of the environmental clearance granted by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Bihar, whichever is earlier. According to District Magistrate cum Collector Mithilesh Mishra, five sand blocks of the district have been included in this e-auction, which include Block No. 2 (Mahisona), Block No. 5 (Jhinaura, Chanan), Block No. 8 (Nagardar, Chanan), Block No. 9 (Nongarh, Chanan) and Block No. 11 (Batta, Chanan). Before the e-auction, a pre-bid meeting cum training program will be organized on 27 January 2026 at 11 am in the consultation room of Lakhisarai Collectorate.

He said that the process of downloading the tender document sale fee of Rs 5,000 will start from January 17, 2026 only through online mode. Auction earnest money and auction processing fees will also be deposited through online mode only. The last date for uploading the tender documents is 2 February 2026 till 5 PM.

After scrutiny of technical tenders, the list of successful bidders will be uploaded on the system by 6 February 2026. District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra further said that the e-auction will start at 2 pm on February 9, 2026 and will end at 5 pm. The entire process of e-auction will be done through e-procurement portal https://www.eproc2.bihar.gov.in, in which registration of interested person, firm or company on the portal is mandatory to participate.

He also clarified that detailed information related to sand ghats is available on the official website of the district https://lakhisarai.nic.in. At the same time, the settlement of Balu Ghat, Block No. 11 of Kiul River will be affected by the final decision of the case pending in Patna High Court, Patna. The District Magistrate has appealed to the interested bidders to complete all the formalities within the stipulated time limit.
