Ashok Kediyal, Jagran, Dehradun: All the educational documents of 2316 assistant teachers who were appointed under the recruitment process of 2906 basic teachers in the state last year, will be scrutinized. Recently, a case of irregularities in the permanent residence certificates of more than a hundred teachers has come to light.
Many teachers posted in different districts got permanent residence certificate made from Uttar Pradesh to do D.El.Ed and later got government job by showing permanent residence of Uttarakhand.
The department has decided to check the documents of all the teachers. After a major fraud came to light in the recruitment of assistant teachers in the Education Department last year, the department is now taking steps seriously. So far, notices have been issued to more than 136 teachers.
The sword of action is hanging against these teachers for holding two permanent residences at the same time. Notices are being issued in the matter after investigation at the district level. 42 teachers in Tehri, 28 in Chamoli and 59 in Pauri have come under investigation.
Apart from this, doubts have been expressed on the certificates of at least two hundred teachers in Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Nainital. It has become clear in the investigation that for D.El.Ed training, permanent residence of Uttar Pradesh was shown as mandatory, whereas at the time of appointment, permanent residence of Uttarakhand was presented.
Director of Elementary Education Ajay Naudiyal said that before this episode in Haridwar, the cases of 42 teachers had been investigated, while in other districts investigation is going on regarding the fresh recruitments. After completion of the verification of the documents of all the assistant teachers recruited against the vacant 2906 posts of basic teachers, strict action will be taken against all the teachers found guilty.
Those committing fraud will be punished under any circumstances: Education Minister
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that those who get jobs on the basis of fake educational and residence certificates will not be spared under any circumstances. He clarified that by taking action as per law, the services of the accused will be terminated and if necessary, criminal cases will also be registered.
