Munish Sharma, Noida. Gautam Budh Nagar Commissionerate Police is not able to make people get into the habit of wearing helmets, whereas one of the reasons for deaths in road accidents is that the driver was not wearing a helmet. Even if a helmet is worn, its quality is so poor. It shatters into pieces upon impact.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Police Chief Rajiv Krishna are concerned about removing these shortcomings. Special Road Safety Month is being run in January, but in Gautam Buddha Nagar, people are breaking traffic rules even during the Road Safety Month. They are running in front of the police without wearing helmet. In such a situation, the campaign is proving to be merely on paper.
National Road Safety Month will continue till 31 January
Uttar Pradesh Chief Yogi Adityanath has pledged to celebrate National Road Safety Month as 'Zero Fatality Month'. National Road Safety Month is being run in the district till 31st January. In this, work is being done on 4-E model education, enforcement, engineering, emergency care.
The responsibility has been assigned to transport, traffic police, road construction unit and health department. Where the education department should take awareness initiative. At the same time, the departments related to construction work have to work in the direction of road engineering and the health department has to work in the direction of emergency care.
The responsibility of enforcing traffic rules rests on the shoulders of the transport and traffic police. Both the departments are claiming to take action, but this strictness is not bringing change in the habits of the people. Due to this, people are driving at overspeed without helmets, while the police has to take enforcement action to change the habits of the drivers.
This will prevent people from breaking traffic rules. If we follow the rules then road accidents will reduce. This will automatically reduce the number of road accidents and deaths.
Recent incidents of challan without helmet
Along with making people aware, efforts are being made to remove the shortcomings of road engineering. The graph of deaths in road accidents can be brought down.
