Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. The weather pattern changed in the area on Friday and there was heavy rain. Due to this a drop in temperature has been recorded. The weather was becoming pleasant continuously for the last five days.
It continued to drizzle intermittently till late evening. During this period the minimum temperature remained at 10 degrees and maximum at 17.4 degrees Celsius.
Due to sudden change in weather on Thursday night, strong wind started blowing. It started raining early on Friday. Farmers say that this has increased the cold but the crops have also benefited.
The weather had been normal for the last several days, but on Friday morning the temperature dropped again due to rain along with wind. Due to this people started feeling cold again.
Drizzle in Bilari also, benefit to wheat and horticulture
Sons, Jagran Bilari: It rained on Friday in the month of Magh. This has greatly benefited the wheat crop. After two days of harsh weather, the cold wave has returned again. It started drizzling at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and continued till evening.
Vikas Raj Singh, a farmer of Gwarau village, says that this rain is very beneficial for wheat, if the rain continues with strong wind then the mustard crop may get damaged.
Farmer Ramesh Singh Yadav of Khanpur village says that this year of Magh month is called Mahavat. Mango grower Sahu Sunil Sahay says that due to this rain of Mahavat, gardening of mango, guava, blackberries etc. also benefits a lot.
Bilari's electricity stopped due to rain
Sons, Jagran Bilari: Due to water filling in the cable box during the rains, the power supply in the 132 KVA power house came to a standstill on Friday. Due to this the supply to the city and rural areas stopped. SDO Awadhesh Kumar said that even during the rainy season, electrical workers are busy in repair work. The supply will be restored soon.
Power line fell amid rain, road blocked
Sons, Thakurdwara: Life went haywire in the city after rain on Friday. Due to the falling of the power line at Kotwali Tiraha, not only the power supply was disrupted, but the related road was also closed.
Pedestrians and drivers had to face a lot of trouble due to the sudden closure of the road amid rain. Many drivers were seen turning their vehicles back under compulsion. Pedestrians had to go through alternative routes. Some people remained stuck at the spot for a long time.
Local people informed the electricity department about the matter, but even after a long time the department team could not reach the spot. For safety reasons the power supply has been stopped.
Departmental officials say that power supply will be restored after repairing the line. Resentment was seen among the local people towards the electricity department. People have demanded that in view of the rainy season, power lines should be checked from time to time, so that such incidents can be avoided.
