Women's Weightlifting and Men's Basketball Residential Eklavya Training Center will open in Muzaffarpur, where players aged between eight to 14 years will be given free training. Eklavya State Residential Weightlifting Sports Training will be opened for girls in the Sports Complex located in Sikandarpur.
Let us tell you that the decision to open a weightlifting sports training center was taken a year ago. For this, funds were allocated by the government. The league had gone ahead with the selection of players and purchase of necessary sports equipment, but later the matter of opening the center was put on hold.
Once again the government has issued an order directing the opening of the centre. Giving this information, Director of Physical Education and District Sports Officer Rajendra Kumar said that the main objective of the weightlifting training center is to motivate girls for a fit, disciplined and healthy lifestyle through sports and also to create recognition at the national and international level.
He said that girls in the age group of 8 to 14 years of Muzaffarpur district can also take free non-residential training at the Eklavya State Residential Weightlifting Sports Training Centre.
National level trainer K. deputed by Bihar State Sports Authority. Loganathan will train the players. To participate in the training, all the players have been asked to bring the original copy of Aadhar card and birth certificate and two color photographs.
Whereas residential men's basketball Eklavya training center will be opened in any school of the district and residential facility will be available. Search is on for such a school.
