Jagran correspondent, Ghazipur. District Magistrate Avinash Kumar took the meeting of the District Level Vigilance Committee in the Collectorate Auditorium. District Supply Officer Anant Pratap Singh informed about the progress of the currently running schemes related to food and public distribution.
Told that 6221 units in urban areas of the district and 34,353 units in rural areas are currently running vacant. The benefit of this vacant unit is being given in issuing ration cards on priority basis to the remaining leprosy patients who are getting subsidy on shoes, socks etc. under the Zero Poverty Scheme and after making the ration cards.
In the review of blocks which had distributed minimum food grains in the last three months, Bhadaura, Revatipur and Zamania were found to be lagging behind. On this, the District Magistrate summoned the concerned supply inspectors and directed that distribution of food grains to the card holders should be ensured as per the rules.
On receiving complaints of non-availability of ration, instructions were also given to take strict action against the concerned seller. In the review of e-KYC, it was told that the district is at 31st place in the state and is above the state average, yet e-KYC of 2,38,913 units is still pending.
The progress of e-KYC was found to be very low in six blocks. Instructed to complete 100% e-KYC through fair price shops. Instructed to get e-KYC done on priority for new cards issued between May 2025 and August 2025.
After investigation, delete the deceased, married and displaced units and issue new ration cards to the eligible families. In the review of Annapurna buildings to be constructed under MNREGA in the financial year 2024-25 and 2025-26, the gram panchayats in which construction work has not started. The District Magistrate expressed displeasure over them and instructed the Sub-District Magistrates to complete the quality construction work by coordinating with the BDO.
At present the posts of 11 fair price shops are vacant, out of which there is a stay order of the High Court on three. The recruitment process at the remaining eight shops is pending. On this, instructions were given to issue show cause notice to Block Development Officer Jakhanian and Zamanian and asked to get all fair price shops inspected.
