The case of the death of Tripura student Angel Chakma in Dehradun has now reached the Supreme Court. The petition seeks judicial intervention on racial violence against the people of the North-Eastern states. The student died on December 26 after being injured in the alleged attack on December 9. However, Dehradun Police has denied the aspect of racial violence, calling it a fight between two groups.

A fire broke out under suspicious circumstances in a bike repair shop in Purkaji town of Muzaffarnagar. This incident created chaos nearby. Seven bikes and spare parts parked in the shop were burnt to ashes due to the fire, causing a loss worth lakhs. The fire brigade brought the fire under control after hours of effort. According to the station in-charge, there is no loss of life due to the fire and investigation is going on based on CCTV footage.
A youth named Nitesh, who was injured after being hit by a vehicle on December 26 in Faridabad's IMT, died during treatment. He was a resident of Aligarh and lived in Sotai village. Police have registered a case of negligent driving against the unknown driver. The post-mortem of the deceased was conducted at Badshah Khan Hospital.
