In a dispute over drinking alcohol in Narela industrial area, one friend attacked another with a knife. Accused Rahul took the injured Tavarez Alam to the hospital with the help of a bike rider, then fled away. Tavares was referred to Lok Nayak Hospital. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder and started searching for the accused Rahul.
A massive fire broke out in a two-storey house due to a spark coming from an electric pole in Bhadhera village of Karsog sub-division of Mandi. Two people died, while three were seriously injured in a horrific road accident on Rampur bypass. The accident occurred at 9:30 am near Alinagar Janubi village on Kosi bypass from Shahzadnagar. Verification of more than 8.78 lakh duplicate voters in Agra will continue till February 20. The body of 45 year old widow Phulwa Devi has been recovered in Kurwatand of Garhi police station area of Jamui. She was missing since Sunday evening and her family suspects murder. The deceased's husband had died five years ago and she had returned from Bengaluru only 10 days ago. Police are investigating the matter, which has created a sensation in the area.
Ghaziabad Police has arrested three vehicle thieves, including Delhi resident Praveen Kumar, who has 105 vehicle theft cases registered against him. Police recovered two stolen cars from him.
