The Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to hear the important issue of whether the Enforcement Directorate can file a writ petition in the High Court as a judicial entity under Article 226. The decision came on appeals by the governments of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, which had challenged the Kerala High Court order which had confirmed the ED's jurisdiction to file writ petitions.

A tragic road accident took place near Rafan intersection in Mawana. A speeding truck laden with sugarcane hit Bullet-riding soldier Shivam Chaudhary and his friend Mohit alias Bhure and dragged him for 25 metres. Both died on the spot. Soldier Shivam Chaudhary had come home on leave. The truck driver fled after the accident, due to which traffic was disrupted for an hour. The police sent the bodies to the mortuary.
Nandan Singh, an e-rickshaw driver in Sidcul, Haridwar, committed suicide accusing his neighbors of mental harassment. Bihar government has taken major action against sand mafia by using digital weapons. The report by National Informatics Center NIC revealed that 475 sand carrying vehicles had tampered GPS for revenue evasion. The Mines Department has prepared to impose a fine ranging from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 1 lakh on these vehicles. This action makes it clear that digital theft of sand will no longer happen in Bihar.
